Floorplay In the Desert 2017
On January 13 & 14, 2017, MADE4dance once again presented their annual ballroom dance competition, Floorplay in the Desert. This event is designed for the same-sex ballroom dance community and its supporters. Hosted in Palm Springs, California, the weekend event featured a variety of social and dance events, highlighted by a one-day same-sex and reverse role competition and the opportunity for the winners in each style of the A level graded events to battle for the title “Palm Springs Best of the Best Dance Trophy Winner.”
The mission of Floorplay in the Desert is to offer a safe environment for LGBT dance competitors, and expose individuals to the excitement and joy of same-sex partner dance competition, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Floorplay in the Desert offers competitive partner dancing in Standard, Latin, Smooth, Rhythm, Argentine Tango, Country, and more. Additionally, Floorplay in the Desert offers an evening Dance Extravaganza featuring top competitive couples and nationally recognized professional dancers.
This fun-filled event created and renewed friendships, featured extraordinary dancers, and allowed for fun and relaxation.
Floorplay in the Desert has been sanctioned by the North American Same Sex Partner Dance Association (NASSPDA). For more information about NASSPDA, please visit their website at www.NASSPDA.org.
